
This class examines the fundamentals of the Adobe Photoshop CS4 workflow. We begin with an examination of navigation and selections, then move on to layers, painting, editing and color correction. Each lesson reveals concepts and techniques in a sequence designed to build and reinforce prior lessons and present new information until you achieve a comprehensive understanding of Adobe Photoshop basics.
Find out what's new in Photoshop CS4 and understand its powerful and elegant workspace. Learn to open images and save them, then navigate and customize your workspace. We'll also introduce you to some of the many tools and their functions that will be useful to you as a new user of Photoshop.
This lesson shows you how to select areas of an image, and how to crop and resize images. You'll learn about image layers and work with basic styles and effects. You'll also discover how to copy image layers from within an image, and from another image source, helping you create imaginative and unique composite images.
Learn the basics of working with digital color. We'll introduce you to the color modes Photoshop offers. You'll learn about applying color to your image, using brush and pencil tools, creating custom brushes, using and editing gradients and transparencies and painting photos with Photoshop CS4 filters.
The final lesson covers how to measure and correct color. We'll explore the Auto correction commands, and then dig a little deeper into making custom color and contrast adjustments. Learn about hue and saturation adjustments and how they help you correct an image—or just have fun with the colors!
