Title
Learn To Play Drums in 7 Days (even without drums) – Day 1 (Grade 6)

Description
Students will learn the basics of drumming and rhythm on their first lesson, even without having drums. All students can learn, no equipment is required. This lesson only takes about 45 minutes! No musical experienced is required from the teacher. This is a great way to get students excited about music and give them confidence and success at playing an instrument.

Objective
Students will be able to read and perform rhythmic notation.

Materials
- Learn To Play Drums in 7 Days (even without drums) by Michael Grothem– Day 1 pdf file (make a hard copy for each student)
- Video Files – videoclips 1-7
- Audio mp3 files – audioclips 1-9
- Computer with speakers, video mp3 player, etc. to play the files

Directions
1. Give each student a copy of Learn To Play Drums in 7 Days (even without drums) by Michael Grothem– Day 1
2. Read aloud the book with the students.
3. Be sure to pause (as indicated in the book) to play the audio or video files.
