Stock Market Game

1 to 2 of 2

Oct. 22

I use the stock market game. Prior to the game I have student research 5 companies that they would be interested in investing in. In the past students would type up a paper and I would have to ready it and enter points. This year they did their research as a entry on a wiki. Students had to work on their searching skills and plus all of their research could then also be used by their classmates, instead of me doing all of the reading. Here is the url for my wiki for this fall http://stockmarketresearchfall09.wikispaces.com/

I am also having students blog about their experiences with the stock market game. Students (groups) have a required number entries that they have to do each week. I will then go and look at their entries to see how they are doing understanding the current economic situation and how their stocks are doing. I created a blog to explain what needs to be done and on the right hand side there is a blog roll with all of my students blogs listed. http://grasselstockmarket.blogspot.com/

Hope this helps you to think about ways to use technology to teach the stock market game.

My grading rubrics for the wiki and blogs I have listed on my moodle course which students access as a link to both the wiki and blog url.
