Special Education and Teaching the Student

Oct. 22

Just like every "typically" developing peer, the Special Education student needs to have the same opportunities to learn. If we as educators only have low expectations for our students, they will only achieve at that level of expectation. If we provide ample opportunities for these students, as in providing Assistive Technology, then we have opened a whole new world for them. In opening up that whole new world, we as educators have just set the expectation level high. Just as in the old saying, "The sky is the limit."
