Students plan a family vacation to visit six historical sites in America. Planning for a 20-day trip, they research a travel route and the historical sites, and manage a $7,000 budget. Students share their journey with the class and create a travelogue, interactive map and brochure. This project teaches information synthesizing, budgeting and graphing, storyboard development, geography and history.
"This project allows you to do some great formative assessment with your students because you're not bogged down standing in front of the class lecturing."
Duane Sisto, Oak Harbor Elementary
