High school students work through real-world engineering problems as they design, fabricate and test microprocessor-controlled robots from basic electronic components. They create videos and web pages to share the technology with students at other high schools. This project helps students develop problem-solving, documentation, teamwork and communication skills required for business and engineering jobs.
"The motivation level of the students involved in Sumo Robot development is truly astonishing. Some students who I would have predicted to be less involved turned out to be specialists in certain aspects of the project development."
Jim Hendricks, Southridge High School
