Students see the "big picture" in a study of Native American culture: Who were the Native Americans? Where did they live? How did their environment influence their lifestyles? And what did they contribute to our nation?

Objectives

  • Identify Native American beliefs and values in stories and folktales.
  • Research one region of Native Americans using a variety of resources, and summarize the knowledge gained from that research into a PowerPoint presentation.
  • Construct a simple newsletter and/or design a Web site to keep parents involved and informed.
  • Use technology to obtain information as well as present it.
